This workshop is appropriate for those who are new to grant-seeking or are representatives from organizations that have not received significant grant funding, in the past. Amanda will show you the best ways to conduct prospect research, which is appropriate for your organization and how to create a strategic approach to increasing your foundation grant dollars. This workshop is designed to help beginners understand the industry and identify the resources you need. We will break into small groups, and work with real grant proposals using the Colorado Common Grants Application and actual donor feedback.
Part 2: Advanced Grant Seekers Workshop, Friday February 17th This 4 hour class is appropriate for individuals with some experience in grant writing, or for those from larger organizations seeking government grants. During the first two hours, Amanda will teach you about measurement tools and program evaluation. The second half of the workshop focuses on writing federal proposals. In this workshop, Amanda will teach you how to find government grant opportunities that you qualify for, how to read and understand federal RFP’s, and how the government grants scoring process works. We will look at some sample proposals and current opportunities.
Part 3: Essential Governance Requirements for Board Members, Friday March 30th During this 4 hour workshop, Amanda teaches nonprofit staff and board members about the mandatory and fiduciary responsibilities that every nonprofit board must know and comply with, in order for the organizations they serve to qualify for grants and be compliant with funders. Amanda will teach you about the essential board committees every organization needs, good governance and board giving policies.
